Hon. Thandi McAllister, accompanied by Director General Alfonso De Armas and Member of Parliament James Bond, recently conducted a walkthrough of the Kingston Power Plants operated by Power Producers and Distributors Inc. (PPDI).
The delegation was joined by PPDI’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Brian Sukhai; Divisional Director of Operations, Colin Roberts; and Divisional Director of Human Resources and Administration and Corporate Secretary, Sarah Balgobin.
Assessing the Kingston Power Plants
The visit provided an opportunity for the delegation to examine the Kingston Power Plants firsthand and gain a better understanding of their operations.
The officials also engaged with PPDI’s management team to discuss the facilities’ current needs and identify key operational and infrastructural areas requiring attention.
Supporting Guyana’s Growing Energy Needs
The engagement forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Guyana’s power generation infrastructure and ensure that critical facilities receive the support and resources necessary to operate effectively.
As the country’s demand for electricity continues to grow, maintaining and upgrading essential power generation facilities remain important to the reliability and resilience of the national electricity system.
