Who We Are
Power Producers and Distributors Inc. (PPDI) is a state-owned company incorporated under the Laws of Guyana in December 2016 and entrusted by the Guyana Power and Light with the operation and maintenance of critical power generation assets serving the national electricity system.
Since commencing operations on 1 January 2017, PPDI has played a vital role in supporting the reliable generation and supply of electricity to the Demerara-Berbice Interconnected System through the operation and maintenance of four Wärtsilä power plants with a combined installed capacity of 106.4 MW.
Today, PPDI is more than a power plant operator. We are a team of dedicated professionals working every day to deliver safe, reliable, and sustainable energy solutions that support communities, businesses, and national development across Guyana.
As the country’s energy landscape continues to evolve, we remain committed to operational excellence, innovation, and the development of a modern generation fleet that can meet the growing needs of a rapidly expanding economy.
